RefWorks @ Middlebury

How to use RefWorks citation management software

Notice

The Library is canceling its subscription to RefWorks effective June 30, 2017. After that date, students, faculty, staff and alumni will not be able to use RefWorks through the library’s subscription.

We no longer support the creation of new RefWorks accounts. If you already have a RefWorks account, see the Migrate from RefWorks page for advice on how to save your RefWorks citations for use in other applications. If you would like assistance, or if you have any questions, please contact a librarian at http://go.middlebury.edu/askus.

Citation Help

When you use the words, ideas, or creations of someone else, cite them. To make it easier to keep track of your sources, try a citation tool like Zotero. Not sure how to properly format your citations? Citation styles (MLA, APA, Chicago) give you detailed guidelines. The citation style you use will depend on the discipline, journal, or course for which you are writing.

Off-campus access

If you're logging in to RefWorks from off campus, you'll be asked for a group code.

  • Group Code. This link will bring you to a page that is password protected (Midd students, faculty, staff only). Use your Middlebury username and password to view it.  The group code allows off-campus access to Middlebury College's subscription to RefWorks.  After you log in with the group code, you can log in with your RefWorks username and password.
